Councilman O’Connor invites the residents of Greenfield to a community meeting on the implosion of the Greenfield Bridge with the City of Pittsburgh’s Departments of Public Works and Public Safety, Mosites, and blasting subcontractor Kesco.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS AND MAP ON THE BACK OF THE ATTACHED FLYER!

GREENFIELD BRIDGE DEMOLITION
Exclusion Zone (800—1,000 Foot Perimeter)

Within 800 feet of the points of implosion (1,000 feet in the valley) specific precautionary measures are recommended for protecting the public and property. Residents and other people within the exclusion zone (outlined below) are being asked to remain indoors and away from viewing windows for the blast. People will not be permitted on City streets or other public spaces within the exclusion zone during the blast. The potential for flying debris is the biggest concern. The implosion may be delayed if people are outside within the exclusion zone.

Traffic will be detoured and/or stopped from entering this zone and from selected streets approaching the zone before, during, and after the blast, beginning at 7:00 am day of blast. Proposed street closures outside the zone are highlighted below. Resident traffic will be maintained up to the designated blast time.

All closures, including the exclusion zone, will be removed after the blast upon inspection and an all clear notice. The best public viewing of the implosion will be from the Oval in Schenley Park.
