The Story To Date:
The old Beechwood Boulevard Bridge (often called The Greenfield Bridge) was permanently closed on Friday, October 16, 2015, partially deconstructed, and then imploded on the morning of December 28, 2015. Click on the photo above for a slideshow of the Old Bridge demolition and implosion, October to December 2015.
A new bridge is being built in its place, slated to open mid-2017. The approved cost of the new bridge: $15,500,000. Demolition: $2,000,000.

On Saturday October 17, 2015 we had a party on the old bridge before it was closed to pedestrians …
WE ROCKED THE BLUES AWAY AT THE GREENFIELD BRIDGEFEST!
On Saturday, October 17, 2015, the last day the existing bridge was open to pedestrians, Greenfield rocked the blues away with North of Mason-Dixon, Milly, Timbeleza and Joe Grushecky and The Houserockers.
