Public Space: Parks and Greenspace

The Public Space Committee provides community input and volunteers to help plan and maintain Greenfield’s public spaces.  Our focus includes streets, parks, planting areas and steps.  To accomplish our goals we work with CitiParks, the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, the Department of Public Works, Tree Pittsburgh, and other public-space agencies.

Our current efforts include two neighborhood-wide annual clean ups, planting and maintaining the landscaped islands at the intersections of Irving at Greenfield Avenue and Ronald at Greenfield Avenue, and working with Tree Pittsburgh to make Greenfield even greener.  We also pursue grant opportunities for public space improvements.

The Public Space Committee meets once a month, usually on the first Tuesday.  All Greenfielders are welcome to join us.

For more information on the committee and its activities email the committee chair at info@gcapgh.org or join us at our next meeting, listed on the GCA Calendar.
